The Lancaster Airport is required to badge anyone who has access to the field at the Lancaster Airport. Anyone who is employed, is a tenant or a tenant's employee, or is a contractor must complete and submit an application to enter or have access to the field. 1. Why do I need a badge? The Transportation Security Administration has required that anyone with access inside the fence that is based at the Lancaster Airport must be submitted for approval to TSA prior to having access to the Airport.
2. What do the 3 categories mean?
AOA - Airport Operations Area - this is the runways, taxiways, aprons, and hangar areas.
Sterile - the Sterile Area is the area that passengers are processed through prior to boarding for a flight
SIDA - Secure Identification Display Area - this area is the airline ramp where the airline aircraft are based for passengers
3. How soon must I have a badge?
You must have a badge prior to gaining access to the field.
4. How long will it take to get a badge once I have submitted my application?
It may take up to a week.
5. What must I submit along with my badge?
We are required to view and retain a copy of a Driver's License and the identifying document listed in Section B of the application. A photo is required and can be taken at the Lancaster Airport Authority office or by submitting a digital photo (head shot with no hats or sunglasses, please!)
6. How can I obtain my badge once I am approved?
The badges will be available in the Lancaster Airport Authority office located in the Terminal Building.
7. What do I do with my badge once I get it?
The badge must be visible at all times once you have gained access to the Lancaster Airport field.
